ROKAnol® GA4LA is a non-ionic surfactant that belongs to the group of alkoxylated fatty alcohols based on C10- Guerbet alcohol. The commercial product is provided in the form of a liquid containing approximately 99% of active substance.
In room temperature, the product takes on a lighter colour, i.e. 100 according to the Hazen scale. Its pour point is -8°C. ROKAnol® GA4LA forms slightly turbid solutions in water, but it is soluble in organic solvents, such as methanol and acetone. The turbidity point in BDG solution (16.7%) is 42–45°C.
The product has low content of free alcohol, which translates into mild smell and low irritant properties. ROKAnol® GA4LA shows moderate resistance to both acids and alkalis. It may be used as a compound of mixtures with other non-ionic as well as anionic and cationic surfactants.
ROKAnol® GA4LA has perfect degreasing, wetting and detergency properties (the lower level of ethoxylation of ROKAnoli® series GA, the better wetting properties). Therefore, it may be successfully used as an ingredient of cleaning an degreasing formulations. Thanks to its properties, the product may be used for example in liquid soaps intended for demanding applications – mainly to remove difficult stains.
ROKAnol® GA4LA may be also used as an efficient emulsifier for liquid paraffin or white spirit in cleaning agents based on such cold-applied solvents. Such formulations are used to clean and degrease metal elements of engines, machines and tanks.
ROKAnol® GA4LA is biodegradable in natural environment and meets the criteria of the Detergent Directive.
