ROKAnol® GT10W is classified among the non-ionic surfactants in the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols with a chain length of C9 - C16. This product is a part of the ROKAnol® GT series. Thanks to its special properties it is perfectly suited as a substitute for ethoxylates based on C13 alcohol.
The commercial product contains about 85% of the active substance in an aqueous solution, which ensures better operability of the product on a commercial scale. It coagulates at a temperature of about -15°C whereas at 20°C it is a clear liquid with colour of max. 50 on the Hazen scale. ROKAnol® GT10W is hydrophilic, thus it dissolves well in water and in low aliphatic alcohols. Furthermore, it has a wide cloud point within the temperature range 64-66°C in an aqueous solution.
ROKAnol® GT10W exhibits stability both in oxidating and reducing environments, as well as in the presence of hard water. Furthermore, the product is characterized by resistance to acidic and alkaline environments, presence of salts and organic solvents, whose presence in a formulation results from the need to fulfil special, restrictive usage requirements. ROKAnol® GT10W exhibits considerably higher resistance to electrolytes, particularly to alkalis in comparison to lower ethoxylates of the ROKAnol® GT series. Thanks to this it can be used in more alkaline formulations, particularly in professional detergents and auxiliary agents in the textile industry.
Considering the absence of ionic forms in the chemical structure of ROKAnol® GT10W, it can be used in conjunction with other non-ionic surfactants and in formulations with anionic and cationic surfactants. Compared with other ROKAnol® GT it is distinguished by higher foam forming capabilities. It exhibits very good degreasing and detergent properties, allowing to obtain high efficiency of dirt removal from fabrics/knitwear and from hard surfaces.
It works excellently as an ingredient of preparations intended for fibre pre-treatment. This product attains good results in removing oil stains of mineral origin from fabric and knitwear formed as a result of knitting and weaving processes. Thanks to its excellent wetting properties, ROKAnol® GT10W can be used as ingredient in bleaching compositions for raw cotton knitwear and textiles. Product application in a bleaching bath enhances the capillarity of the pigment during the second fibre processing stage, i.e. the dyeing process.
