EXOstat 122 is a non-ionic agent from the group of alkoxylated fatty amines. The product has the form of a clear viscous liquid. The substance is insoluble in water and is capable of forming dispersions.
The solidification point is approx. 2°C. Due to the presence of a double oxyethylene chain at the nitrogen atom, EXOstat 122 has a complex effect as a non-ionic and cationic antistatic agent. Additionally, it has a positive anti-corrosion effect, especially in ferrous metals.
EXOstat 122 is a liquid antistatic agent used to reduce the surface resistance of a polyethylene or polypropylene film (HDPE, LDPE, PP). It is also used in plastic materials based on styrene polymers (PS, SAN, HIPS, ABS). As an additive, it ensures high efficiency in obtaining the required antistatic properties of finished goods.
The undoubted advantage of the product is its liquid form, due to which it is possible to obtain transparent or light-coloured products.
EXOstat 122 is listed by the US-Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) under Section 21 of the CFR.178.3130 Antistatic and/or anti-fogging agent in food-packaging materials. The product is used as an antistatic agent for packaging film that has contact with food.
The compound does not exceed the limit of 0.1% by weight for polyolefin packaging, and meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 of January 14, 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, in line with the restriction given in section 7 regarding total tertiary amine specific migration SML(T) of 1.2 mg/kg.
