EXOsoft AB25 is an ester of benzoic acid and C12-15 alcohols; INCI: C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate. It is an oily, clear liquid with a colour of max. 50 on the Hazen scale. It has light consistency and low viscosity. It is insoluble in water but is very well soluble in fats and in solvents such as chloroform and hexane.

EXOsoft AB25 regulates the epidermal microflora and has an antimicrobial effect. It inhibits the growth and development of microorganisms and prevents them from surviving in the product. In addition, it protects the skin from environmental pollutants and UV radiation. In this way, it ensures safety of the finished product.

Its main area of application is the production of cosmetics, including personal hygiene products.

In cosmetic formulations, EXOsoft AB25 works very well as an emollient and a vehicle for other active substances. This means that the product leaves a special occlusive layer on the surface of the skin or hair, whose purpose is to prevent excessive water evaporation. This ensures an indirect moisturising effect, thanks to which a conditioning effect is achieved on the skin and hair, making them silky smooth, soft and healthy-looking. In colour cosmetics and sunscreen products, EXOsoft AB25 is used as a softening and smoothing agent and pigment dispersant. It is a very effective solvent for lipophilic active ingredients and UV filters. In addition, it reduces the viscosity and greasiness of cosmetics and improves their application properties. It does not contain allergens and is gentle on the skin. EXOsoft AB25 is safe to use. It is not classified according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 [CLP/GHS].ADR/RID, IMDG and ICAO/IATA regulations on transport do not apply to the shipments of this product.
