ROKAnol® T20 PILLS, identified by its INCI name Ceteareth-20, is a non-ionic surfactant. This commercial product is a white, waxy solid in pastille form, with a solidification point around 40°C. Derived from renewable vegetable sources, it is primarily utilized in cosmetic applications.
ROKAnol® T20 PILLS is primarily utilized as an emollient, emulsifier, and solubilizer. It is typically combined with other compounds like alcohols and fatty acids to help dissolve the remaining ingredients in formulations. Due to the high degree of ethoxylation of cetostearyl alcohol, ROKAnol® T20 PILLS exhibit a strong hydrophilic character, making them ideal for creating stable oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions. It forms particularly stable emulsions when used with other emulsifiers, such as glyceryl stearate. Thanks to its excellent emulsifying properties, ROKAnol® T20 PILLS can be used to prepare emulsions at room temperature, which is especially important for formulations containing heat-sensitive active substances.
