Roflam F5 is a phosphor flame retardant that provides a high fire resistance class of plastics. During the combustion process, the product works in a solid phase, creating on the surface of the material a charred layer inhibiting the spread of the flame. The flame retardant is a halogen-free solution, therefore, no toxic gases such as HCl or HBr are emitted during the gas-phase combustion process.

Properties and applications

Product application advantages:

  • halogen-free product that does not emit toxic gases during combustion processes,
  • the possibility of obtaining a formulation for the production of semi-rigid foam that meets the requirements of DIN 4102-1 class B2,
  • the possibility of obtaining a formulation for the production of acoustic foam that meets the requirements of FMVSS 302,
  • one of the components of modern intumescent coatings,
  • the possibility of using in synergy with solid inorganic flame retardants in order to improve the fire class of the material,
  • a product in the form of a low-viscous homogeneous liquid which facilitates dosing,
  • noticeable effect on the viscosity reduction of the system along with the increase in flame retardation.

Applications:

  • furniture industry (mattresses, sofas, armchairs, upholstered furniture),
  • automotive industry (acoustic insulation, car seats),
  • C.A.S.E. (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers),
  • construction industry (fire-resistant paints, construction materials).
