Roflam F9 is a specialized phosphate ester used as an additive flame retardant. The product is halogen-free, thus, it does not release toxic gases during the combustion process. The use of a flame retardant leads to the formation of a charred layer on the surface of the material, which inhibits the spread of the flame. In order to enhance the flame retarding effect, Roflam F9 can be used together with inorganic flame retardants in the powder form with which it has a synergistic effect.
The product is in the form of a clear, homogeneous liquid, characterized by a viscosity of 91-115 mPa * s (at 25°C). The flame retardant ensures excellent miscibility and compatibility with liquid raw materials.
Thanks to its characteristics, Roflam F9 can be used in many industries. It is dedicated to the production of flexible and semi-rigid polyurethane foams used in the furniture industry (mattresses, sofas, armchairs) and automotive (acoustic insulation, seats). As a halogen-free flame retardant, no toxic gases are released during the combustion process. This significantly influences the time and physical extension of evacuation possibilities from rooms and ease of transport, improving the safety of health and human life. Roflam F9 is also successfully used in construction materials based on epoxy, vinyl ester and unsaturated polyester resins.
