Roflam B7L is a halogen-free flame retardant. It is a product completely safe for the environment and human health. Among other products belonging to the group of triaryl phosphate esters, it is distinguished by non-hazardous class according to the GHS system. In addition, due to the fact that it is a halogen-free solution, it does not cause the release of toxic gases (including hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide) during the combustion process.
There are several mechanisms that limit the flammability of the material. Roflam B7L inhibits the solid-phase burning process, creating on the surface of the material a charred layer that cuts off the access of oxygen and heat from the environment. In turn, halogen flame retardants most often inhibit reactions in the gas phase, which are responsible for flame propagation and heat generation. Both of these mechanisms are considered very effective.
Roflam B7L is characterized by low dynamic viscosity and low acid number, thanks to which it is successfully used in polyurethane materials. It is dedicated primarily to the production of flexible and semi-rigid polyurethane foams used in the furniture industry (mattresses, sofas, armchairs) and car (acoustic insulation, car seats), where the priority is the lack of toxic gases during the combustion process and low emission of volatile organic compounds. In addition, due to the synergy of Roflam B7L with other flame retardants, the use of the product enables compliance with stringent flammability requirements.
synergy with mineral flame retardants (including melamine, ammonium polyphosphate),
no release of toxic gases during combustion,
not classified as hazardous according to the GHS (Globally Harmonized Systems),
low emission of volatile organic compounds,
high compatibility with liquid raw materials,
can be used in formulations containing amine catalysts.
The benefits of using Roflam B7L:
obtaining fireproof flexible and semi-rigid polyurethane foams, meeting the requirements of the car industry and the furniture industry,
obtaining flexible and semi-rigid polyurethane foams that meet the requirements for low emission of volatile organic compounds,
obtaining a flame-retardant effect while maintaining good physical and mechanical parameters of flexible and semi-rigid polyurethane foams, extending the time of retaining the functional properties of structural elements during a fire.
Applications:
car industry - acoustic insulation, car seats,
furniture industry - mattresses, sofas, armchairs, cushions, upholstered furniture.
