ROKAnol® GA7 is a nonionic surfactant that belongs to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols. The product co-creates a group of surfactants based on C10 Guerbet alcohol. It has the form of a cloudy liquid with an active substance content of about 100%. It takes on a bright colour at 40°C (maximum 50 on the Hazen scale), while it solidifies at temperatures below 20°C.
ROKAnol® GA7 creates cloudy solutions in water, while it is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol or acetone. The cloud point of this product is 67-70°C in BDG solution (16.7%). ROKAnol® GA7 has moderate resistance to both acids and alkali. It may be part of mixtures with other nonionic as well as anionic and cationic surfactants.
ROKAnol® GA7 is characterised by low foaming capacity as an ethoxylated product, so it can be included in preparations in which the presence of abundant foam is a disadvantageous factor. Moreover, ROKAnol® GA7 has excellent degreasing and wetting properties (the lower the degree of ethoxylation of the ROKAnol® GA series, the better the wetting properties) and detergency. For this reason, it can be successfully used as a component of cleaning and degreasing formulations. It is the very high degreasing capacity of this product that makes the product used in tanning industry processes, in particular for degreasing skins in the wet process.
The product is also used, among others, in liquid and powder laundry detergents, where its high detergency is used. In the detergency tests, both on hard surfaces and on the normalised fabric EMPA 125, at a concentration of 5 g/L, it shows the best efficiency among the ROKAnol® GA series. ROKAnol® GA7 can be used in professional cleaning agents as well as in specialist acidic formulations and in metal cleaning agents.
Thanks to its properties ROKAnol® GA7 is also used in car cosmetics and chemistry as a detergent or wetting agent, depending on the formulation.
ROKAnol® GA7 is a perfect emulsifier. Its usefulness for individual systems depends on the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB), which directly correlates with the degree of ethoxylation. In addition, like all the ROKAnol® GA series, the product has dispersing properties.
ROKAnol® GA7 is a biodegradable product in the natural environment and meets the criteria of the directive on detergents.
