ROKAnol® GA7W is a nonionic surfactant that belongs to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols. The product co-creates a group of surfactants based on C10 Guerbet alcohol. It has the form of a clear liquid with an active substance content of about 85%. At room temperature, it takes on a bright colour, i.e., a maximum 50 on the Hazen scale, while it solidifies at temperatures below 0°C, which makes it easier to handle in winter conditions.
ROKAnol® GA7 creates cloudy solutions in water, but is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol or acetone. The cloud point of this product is 67-70°C in a BDG solution (16.7%). ROKAnol® GA7W has moderate resistance to both acids and alkali. It may be part of mixtures with other nonionic as well as anionic and cationic surfactants.
ROKAnol® GA7W is characterised by low foaming capacity as an ethoxylated product, which can be used for preparations in which the presence of abundant foam is a disadvantageous factor. Moreover, ROKAnol® GA7W has excellent degreasing and wetting properties (the lower the degree of ethoxylation of the ROKAnol® GA series, the better the wetting properties) and detergency. For this reason, it can be successfully used as a component of cleaning and degreasing formulations. It is the very high degreasing capacity of this product that makes the product used in tanning industry processes, in particular for degreasing skins in the wet process.
The product is also used, among others, in liquid and powder laundry detergents, where its high detergency is used. In detergency testing both on hard surfaces and on normalised fabric EMPA 125, at a concentration of 5g/L, it shows the highest efficiency of all the ROKAnol® GA series. The ROKAnol® GA7W can be used in professional cleaning agents as well as in specialist acidic formulations and also in metal cleaning agents.
ROKAnol® GA7 works excellently as an emulsifier. Its usefulness for individual systems depends on the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB), which directly correlates with the degree of ethoxylation. In addition, like all the ROKAnol® GA series, the product has dispersing capabilities.
ROKAnol® GA7W is a biodegradable product in the natural environment and meets the criteria of the directive on detergents.
