Active Play AS H 8001 is a one-component polyurethane adhesive for professional bonding of rubber granulate. The adhesive is a prepolymer based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI). It can be part of systems for the production of jointless sports surfaces, both external and internal, and for playgrounds. In addition, the product can be used for the production of cold-formed and (more often) hot-formed components. Depending on the technology used, hot forming takes place at higher temperatures ranging from 50 to even 110°C. Higher temperatures and moisture reduce the curing time, however, it should be remembered that excessive high temperature can cause the finished component to degrade.
Active Play AS H 8001 adhesive effectively combines various rubber granulates available on the market, including SBR (styrene-butadiene) and EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), differing in their fraction and origin. Before use, make sure that the rubber granules are fully compatible with the adhesive. During the processing stage, it is important to wet the granulate with a prepolymer before using it. Then, the mixture of granulate and adhesive should be placed in a mould. The curing reaction under the influence of temperature and moisture occurs during pressure of the press. It should be borne in mind that the properties of the obtained element depend greatly on the fraction of the used rubber granulate, on the composition and amount of PU glue and on the degree of compression during curing. What makes the Active Play AS H 8001 adhesive stand out is the good flexibility of the bond.
It should be remembered that a film made of a one-component polyurethane adhesive is not UV-resistant (light-resistant). For this reason, the granulate’s colour may change, especially in the case of light coloured granules. EPDM granules are particularly sensitive to UV light.
The Active Play AS H 8001 adhesive is a product that is safe for the natural environment and health as it does not contain harmful organic solvents.
Main application advantages of the product:
production of extremely durable elements based on rubber granules,
obtaining jointless sports surfaces and surfaces for playgrounds,
production of pavement with various applications, flexible and resistant to mechanical damage,
a flexible layer that cushions falls from a height.
Technical properties of the product:
adhesive consumption: 5-17% depending on the amount of granulate and fraction
open time (determined using a mist of water from the atomizer): 50-80 minutes
