POLIkol 300PF belongs to the polyoxyethylene glycol group. This product fulfils the stringent quality requirements of the latest edition of European Pharmacopoeia, which may be classified as a macrogol. Macrogols are the pharmacopoeial name for polyethylene glycols that are used as ingredients in medicines, ointments, dermocosmetics, or other pharmaceutical formulations.
POLIkol 300PF is a colourless, viscous liquid. It is characterised by a wide spectrum of application properties.
Due to their specific properties, macrogols act as solvents and solubilisers for active and auxiliary substances in pharmaceutical formulations. They are substances that improve the rheological properties (an increase in viscosity) of liquid formulations and ointments and also play a stabilising role in the formulations. These products are used as active ingredient binders. They are also used as humectants, i.e., the means of binding the water of the formulation, thereby ensuring even distribution of the components within them.
Moreover, macrogols are safe, non-toxic, and are characterised by a lack of negative environmental classification.
POLIkol 300PF meets the requirements of the current Ph. Eur. monograph for Macrogol 300
