ROKAnol NL8W belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: C9-11 Pareth-8). The product belongs to the ROKAnol NL series based on C9-C11 synthetic alcohol. High surface activity allows them to be used in detergents and cleaning agents.
The commercial product contains about 90% of the active substance. It takes the form of a clear liquid with a light colour, i.e. up to 70 Hazen-scale. The product has a pour point of about 0°C, which makes it easier to handle it in winter conditions.
ROKAnol NL8W has hydrophilic properties, which is reflected in its high solubility in water and low aliphatic alcohols. It is characterized by moderate foaming and good alkali resistance (up to 90g NaOH / L). The product has a high cloud point within the temperature range 78 ÷ 85°C (in aqueous solution). It can be successfully used in the environment of oxidizing, reducing agents and hard water. Due to its ionic nature, this product can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliaries and in formulations with anionic as well as cationic surfactants.
The use of ROKAnol NL8W in the formulation ensures optimal wetting of the cleaned surface. Thanks to its very high detergency properties, the product also ensures high quality removal of dirt from the fabric / knitwear and hard surface. Furthermore, the product has the ability to disperse dirt particles in aqueous cleaning processes, which is an advantage in the detergent processes.
Due to such numerous advantages, the product works well as a component of weakly alkaline and acidic detergents, including those intended for professional use. Examples of such formulations are: universal cleaning liquids, bathroom and kitchen cleaners, floor cleaning agents, degreasing agents for gastronomy, formulations for degreasing metal parts. ROKAnol NL8W in cleaning formulations is usually used in the presence of a hydrotrope or solvent (e.g., BDG), which improves its stability in the formulation. Such compositions may also contain anionic surfactants, e.g. ABSNa. ROKAnol NL8W is also used in car chemistry as a component with a degreasing effect in car shampoos.
ROKAnol NL8W has also found application in the textile industry in pre-treatment of fibres. It can be recommended for removing mineral oil stains from fabric/knitwear that result from industrial knitting and weaving processes. Due to its moisturizing properties on cotton fabric, it can be used as an ingredient in bleach compositions of raw knits and cotton fabrics. Its presence in the formulation improves bleaching efficiency, which improves dye capillarity in dyeing processes.
ROKAnol NL8W is a very good emulsifier of silicone oil with which it forms microemulsions. These compositions are used, among others as softeners necessary in textile processes. In addition, the product meets the safety standards for textiles set by the world's leading textile institutes, such as the Oeko-Tex Standard Association and the ZDHC Program.
ROKAnol NL8W is completely biodegradable and meets the criteria of the detergents directive.
