EXOhib PC400 is a corrosion inhibitor intended for paint products. The product is a mixture of aminoboranes and is provided in the form of approx. 50% aqueous solution having clear yellow colour. EXOhib PC400 has very good wetting properties allowing to moisture steel surfaces, without any phosphates or nitrites. The product is highly compatible with acrylic, styrene-acrylic and vinyl-acrylic dispersions as well as with vinyl acetate copolymers.
EXOhib PC400 is used in waterborne paints as an auxiliary corrosion inhibitor. It is applied in the form of an additive preventing the so-called “rust film” while drying of waterborne products (i.e. “anti-flash rust”), in particular applied on steel surfaces. The product is recommended for the formulations of anticorrosive paints, both matt and gloss paints, used in urban environments.
EXOhib PC400 is also recommended as a substitute for sodium nitrite. The recommended level of use in waterborne anticorrosive paints, both matt and gloss, is 0.3 – 0.6% (w/w).
