ROKAmer 3100 belongs to the group of non-ionic surfactants (block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, i.e.ROKAmers). The product is a high molecular polymer with a specific, double-action structure, which means that it has two hydrophilic groups. This feature distinguishes the group of ROKAmers from other non-ionic surfactants, and determines their properties. ROKAmer 3100 is one of the products with low and anti-foaming properties, which is their basic feature. It is dedicated to professional detergents for industrial and institutional cleaning, as well as for some industrial processes.
The product is a turbid liquid. Its freezing point is at around 13°C, and the active substance content is around 100%. The diluted aqueous solutions of the product become turbid within the temperature range of 59-61°C. ROKAmer 3100 is a product with high hydrophilicity, and good degreasing and wetting properties on hard surfaces. This means that it is used, among others, as an ingredient in professional dishwashing agents, industrial bottle washing formulations, and metal degreasing preparations.
ROKAmer 3100 is used in Clean-in-Place systems, e.g. as a component of cleaning formulations in breweries. Due to the anti-foaming properties already achieved at moderate temperatures, it reduces the foaming of washing baths, also in the presence of proteins or starch. ROKAmer 3100 is hard water resistant, and is dedicated to neutral or slightly alkaline formulations. These features mean that the product is used on a wide scale in industrial and institutional cleaning.
Its anti-foaming properties are used in the paper, food and textile industries, as well as in all production processes where there is a problem of process or waste water foaming. Due to its properties, the product reduces the surface tension between the liquid and air, while improving foam "drainage", resulting in foam reduction.
ROKAmer 3100 does not contain silicone, it is not classified as a dangerous substance, and is susceptible to aerobic biodegradation. It complies with the regulations allowing the product to come into indirect contact with food. The product is kosher certified. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permits the use of this product and its derivatives as an anti-foamer under the conditions described in the following FDA sections:
