EXOdet B is a mixture of natural non-ionic surfactant (alcohol ethoxylate) and benzotriazole. The product is a clear or slightly turbid liquid with a very low freezing point (below -20°C) and a light colour (100 max.,Pt/Co scale). The product’s cloud point in water is within the temperature range of 24-28°C.
EXOdet B is one of the best highly detergent wetting agents for general household cleaning as well as professional cleaning, where, in addition to the above characteristics, low foaming capacity is also required. This product has cleaning properties comparable to widely used lauryl alcohol ethoxylates, but its foaming capacity is several times lower. This makes it one of the most universal low-foaming surfactants in the offer of PCC Group. It is also enriched with an anti-corrosion properties.
The excellent wetting properties of this product, combined with a low cloud point, are primarily used in professional dishwasher detergents. By lowering the wetting angle on hard surfaces the alkoxylated fatty alcohol contained in EXOdet B causes faster drying of dishes, thus preventing the formation of streaks. The benzotriazole contained in the mixture belongs to several compounds that prevent discolouration of such metals as copper, brass, and copper-nickel-zinc alloys (nickel silver) with aqueous detergent solutions.
Dry cleaning liquids containing detergents often cause corrosion of copper and other metals.
EXOdet B, due to its composition and properties, can be successfully used also in this type of preparations. The use of EXOdet B in the detergent composition enables safe cleaning of surfaces made of copper and copper alloys.
