ROKAnol® NL12W/80 belongs to non-ionic surfactants (ethoxylated fatty alcohols,INCI name: C9-11 Pareth-12). The product belongs to the ROKAnol® NL series based on a C9-C11 alcohol. Distinct surface activity allows the series to be used mainly as excellent detergents and cleaning agents.
The commercial product contains approximately 80% of the active substance. At room temperature, it is a clear liquid. The freezing point is about -13°C. ROKAnol® NL12W/80 has hydrophilic properties, which is reflected in its good solubility both in water and low aliphatic alcohols. The product is characterised by very good foam-forming properties, and creates a stable and durable foam.
The product has a high cloud point within 67-73°C in the NaCl/water solution. It can be successfully used in an oxidizing, reducing, and hard water environment. Due to its non-ionic nature, this product can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliary agents, and in formulations with anionic as well as cationic surfactants.
ROKAnol® NL12W/80, similarly to ROKAnol® NL5, ROKAnol® NL6 and ROKAnol® NL9, has very good wetting properties. Owing to this, it is used in fibre pre-treatment processes. It is recommended for removing oil stains (mineral oils) from woven or knitted fabric, which result from industrial knitting and weaving processes. Due to its excellent wetting properties on cotton fabric,the product can be used as an ingredient in compositions for bleaching cotton and raw knitted fabrics. Its presence in the formulation increases bleaching efficiency, which improves capillarity in dyeing processes. Such compositions are used, among others, as softening agents necessary in textile processes. In addition, the product meets safety standards for textiles set by leading global textile institutes, such as the Oeko-Tex Standard or the ZDHC Programme.
ROKAnol® NL12W/80 exhibits high cleaning properties on hard surfaces. The product can be used as an ingredient in alkaline as well as acidic detergents for professional institutional cleaning. In professional cleaning agents, the product is most often mixed with other non-ionic surfactants, BDG and alkalis. Such compositions may also contain anionic surfactants, e.g. ABSNa.
ROKAnol® NL12W/80 is completely biodegradable, and meets the EU directive criteria on detergents.
