ROKAnol® GT9 belongs to non-ionic surfactants (ethoxylated fatty alcohols with a chain length C9-C16, of the ROKAnol® GT series). ROKAnol® GT9 contains about 100% active substance. It is a liquid with an oil or paste consistency. The product solidifies at a temperature close to 8°C, while at a temperature above 40°C, it is a clear coloured (50 max., Pt/Co scale). ROKAnol® GT9 is hydrophilic, which is why it dissolves well in water and in low aliphatic alcohols. In addition, it has a high cloud point within 54-56°C in an aqueous solution.
ROKAnol® GT9 shows stability both in an oxidizing and reducing environment, as well as in the presence of hard water. What is more, the product is characterized by resistance to acid or alkaline environment, the presence of salts and organic solvents, whose occurrence in the formulation is the result of meeting special, restrictive usage requirements. ROKAnol® GT9 is characterized by a much greater resistance to electrolytes, especially alkalis, compared to the lower ethoxylates from the ROKAnol® GT series. As a result, it can be used in more alkaline formulations, especially in professional detergents and auxiliary agents in the textile industry.
Due to the lack of ionic forms in the chemical structure of the product, ROKAnol® GT9 can be used in combination with other non-ionic surfactants and in formulations with anionic and cationic surfactants. Compared to other ROKAnols® of the GT series, it stands out by its higher foam formation and a very short wetting time. What is more, it has very good degreasing and detergent properties, which enables a high level of dirt removal from woven/knitted fabrics and hard surfaces. Among its specialized cleaning applications, ROKAnol® GT9 is recommended for removing moss from concrete or brick surfaces, and removing oil stains caused by vehicle leaks from concrete and asphalt.
Thanks to its properties ROKAnol® GT9 is also used in car cosmetics and chemistry as a detergent or wetting agent, depending on the formulation.
In addition, it works well as an ingredient in preparations intended for fibre pre-treatment processes. The product achieves good results in removing oil stains of mineral origin from woven and knitted fabrics resulting from knitting and weaving processes. Due to its excellent wetting properties, ROKAnol® GT9 can be used in compositions for bleaching raw knitted and cotton fabrics Using the product in the bleaching bath improves capillarity during the next stage of fibre treatment, i.e. the dyeing process.
