The Crossin 450 Open Cell Spray Foam is the polyol part of a polyurethane system, intended for use with pMDI. It is used to obtain open cell semi-rigid polyurethane foam of low density, in flammability class E, used as thermal insulation in the construction industry. Crossin 450 is suitable for sea transport thanks to its extended service life and stability when stored at low temperatures.
The system is foamed with the use of carbon dioxide (CO2) obtained in the reaction of the POLY compound with the ISO compound. As a result of combination and thorough mechanical mixing of both compounds, a semi-rigid (soft) foam of an open-cell structure is created. The system should only be processed using high-pressure foaming units equipped with a foaming head. This product is an exceptional system with improved flammability parameters, designed to produce thermal insulation with acoustic properties. It should be applied only inside buildings in residential, commercial, public utility and industrial premises, such as hangars or media premises with low humidity. The foamed system is characterized by physical and mechanical parameters that remain constant over time.
Spraying should be carried out in such a way that the obtained layers are as thick as possible, even > 100 mm, at a constant humidity, which should not exceed 70% for the environment, and for a porous substrate up to 15% (a non-porous substrate must be dry). The use of properly selected insulation thickness, which is additionally free of joints, improves the energy efficiency of the entire insulated surface. The sprayed material should not be exposed to direct UV radiation (sunlight) or come into contact with moisture or water. In such situations, the insulation must be adequately protected with an additional coating.
The Crossin 450 Open Cell Spray Foam system is used to produce semi-rigid (soft) foam, which is at the same time a spray-on thermal and acoustic insulation applied directly to the insulated surface of the roof, attic, canopy, ceiling, wall, e.g. in wooden, brick, steel structures and in frame systems of residential, industrial and utility buildings, regardless of the building material from which it is made.
Main application advantages of the product:
it can be used directly on the insulated surface made of most commercially available building materials;
indoor thermal and acoustic insulation with a wide range of applications (both in modernized and newly erected buildings);
incomparably light insulation that does not burden the building structure;
the possibility of obtaining jointless insulation, thus avoiding exposure to thermal bridges or air blows responsible for heat loss;
possibility of insulating hard-to-access places, especially slants and crevices in case of attic insulation, with full guarantee of insulation tightness;
the speed of execution and versatility of the insulation application technique make it possible to finish the whole insulation even in one day — the outer layer dries in about 13 seconds;
thermal and acoustic insulation with good resistance to moisture and wind thanks to the Bio Defence Technology, it additionally protects the insulated object against mold and fungi;

high mechanical strength, compression strength: σ10 ≥ 6 kPa
water vapour diffusion resistance factor, μ3
temperature stability:
70°C, 90% RH, after 48 h: l ≤ 4%, w ≤ 4%, d ≤ 1%
-30°C, after 48 h: l ≤ 2%, w ≤ 2%, d ≤ 0,5%
total relative deformation:
48 h, 20 kPa, 80°C: ≤ 2.57%

In order for the sprayed foam to maintain all parameters and the best possible adhesion to the substrate, the insulated surface must be cleaned from dust, oil, loose fragments and other agents that may affect the adhesion of the foam before work begins. In addition, the premises and the immediate surroundings, mainly windows, doors and furniture, should be carefully protected to avoid accidental soiling.
