ROKAmer PP2000 is a polyol (polyoxypropylene diol) with an average molar mass of about 2000 g/mol. INCI Name: PEG-34.The product is a polymer with a double-action structure, which is caused by the presence of two hydrophilic groups in the molecule. This distinguishes the ROKAmers PP from other non-ionic surfactants, and determines their properties. ROKAmer PP2000 can therefore be classified as a product with anti-foaming properties, dedicated mainly to industrial processes.
The product contains approximately 100% of the active substance. It is a clear viscous liquid at room temperature, and has a low freezing point (below -20°C). It dissolves in cold water, and its solubility decreases significantly with increased temperature. Just as all polypropylene glycols, ROKAmer PP2000 can be mixed in any proportions with organic solids and liquids, with long chain aliphatic hydrocarbons being the main exception. Additional distinguishing features of this product are excellent lubricity and low vapour pressure. In extreme heating conditions, it does not form coke or varnish, and the decomposition products have a low boiling point.
The product is used in a wide range of applications, primarily as a defoaming ingredient. It can be used as a foam reducing agent in the paper industry, in food processing (sugar production), in emulsion paints, or fermentation vats. Other applications of this product include the use of ROKAmer PP2000 as an anti-adhesive agent, plasticizer, raw material for the synthesis of other anti-foaming agents or various types of resins, a component for the production of polyurea paint coatings, a lubricant component or printing inks.
In the cosmetics industry, ROKAmer PP2000 is used as a humectant, i.e. a moisture-binding agent that maintains it at an appropriate level.
The product is not classified according to the CLP/GHS Regulation.
