Rokolub AD 268 increases the lubricating performance of oils and it is used as an AW/EP (anti-wear/extreme pressure) additive. It is a component of formulations with both mineral and synthetic oils (POE, PAO). Rokolub AD 268 is a particularly important anti-wear and extreme pressure additive used in the lubricants intended for heavy loads. Its application provides a significant reduction in friction between moving parts of machines, reducing frictional wear of their components. Moreover, in very difficult operating conditions that generate boundary friction, Rokolub AD 268 helps to prevent seizing of machines.
The additives of AW/EP type form a polymeric lubricating film on the surface of steel components. Phosphoric esters react with metal oxides and hydroxides (particularly with iron compounds), which are present on metal surfaces, forming multilayer coating lubricants. They decrease friction between individual components and reduce wear of the device.
Tests performed with the four-ball machine in various types of base oils, confirm the high effectiveness of the aryl phosphate esters as anti-wear (AW) additives. The product provides good results, reducing the wear of steel surfaces, used both in mineral and synthetic oils. Rokolub AD 268 positively affects the extreme pressure (EP) properties of lubricating oils. The product actively works with other extreme pressure additives (phosphorus, sulphur, chlorine) on the metal surfaces, increasing the protection of surfaces in friction points, particularly in sliding contact. Thanks to its neutral character, it is compatible with other commonly used oils additives and may be successfully included in additive packages.
Rokolub AD 268 is an organic phosphate ester offered in the form of a colourless or light yellow liquid with a characteristic, mild fragrance. Phosphorus present in its chemical structure provides the product with anti-wear and extreme pressure properties, making it a widely used component in the industrial lubricating oils industry. Products included in the Rokolub AD series are phosphorus additives, which do not cause corrosion and staining metals, in contrast to the widely used AW/EP sulphated and chlorinated additives. Rokolub AD 268, similarly to other products in the series, has a low water content and low acid number, which guarantees a long-term suitability of the product.
Rokolub AD 268, in contrast to other AW/EP additives based on organic aryl esters is not classified in Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). This confirms that the product is a friendly solution both for the environment and human health.
The product is used as an additive for industrial oils (hydraulic oils, compressor oils, turbine oils, gear oils), industrial greases as well as metal working fluids.
