ROKAmer G3400 is a non-ionic surfactant being a type of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide block copolymer, using glycerine as a starter. The product is a clear, colourless liquid with a low freezing point, i.e. below -20°C, and the active substance content of about 100%. Aqueous solutions of ROKAmer G3400 are clear in low temperatures and become cloudy above 15°C. The product is a high-molecular polymer with a specific, triple-action structure, which means that it has three hydrophilic groups. The fact distinguishes ROKAmers G series from other non-ionic surfactants and determines their properties.
ROKAmer G3400 is a product with low-foaming and anti-foaming properties, which means that it is effective at temperatures above 15°C. In addition, ROKAmer G3400 is a reactive surfactant which may be further modified, e.g. with fatty acids. Its derivatives can be used as anti-foaming ingredients in the paper and food industry (e.g. in sugar production), as well as in numerous processes in which there is a problem of process or wastewater foaming. Due to its properties, the product reduces surface tension between the liquid and air and at the same time improves foam "drainage", which results in foam reduction.
ROKAmer G3400 does not contain silicone, it is not classified as a dangerous substance, and is susceptible to aerobic biodegradation.
ROKAmer G3400 complies with the regulations allowing the product to be in indirect contact with food. The American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves the use of this product and its derivatives as an antifoam under the conditions described in the following sections of the FDA:
