Exostat 187 is classified as one of ethoxylated fatty acids. It has the form of a thick paste or wax which turns into liquid when heated. The product is not freely soluble and disperses in water. It dissolves well in alcohols and hydrocarbons. Its pour point is around 29°C.
Exostat 187 is recommended mainly as an internal or external antistatic agent. When the product is introduced internally, it migrates to the surface of the polymer where it interacts with air moisture, reducing surface resistance and allowing the dispersion of the static charge over a long period of time.
The best results in lowering surface resistance are visible in materials made of polyolefins; the product is also recommended as an anti-electric additive to polyethylene and polypropylene film.
EXOstat 187 is complies with COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 10/2011 and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which means it can be used in contact with food pursuant to CFR21: 175.105, 175.300, 175.320, 176.170, 176.180, 176.200, 176.210, 177.1200, 177.1210, 177.1390, 178.3910, 178.3120.
The product complies with the biodegradability criteria set out in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
