Rokopol® iPol H is a polymer dispersion in reactive polyether polyol, white, and designated for production of high quality, high resilience foams (HR) and flame-retardant foams (CMHR). It significantly increases hardness of the material without the need to use styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) polyols. Thanks to this, the content of volatile organic compounds (VOC) is lower, while maintaining a significantly improved fire resistance. It contains antioxidants (excluding BHT). It has hydroxyl value within the range of 49-56 mgKOH/g and dynamic viscosity within the range of 3500-5500 mPas at temp. 25°C.
Rokopol® iPol H is used for production of flame-retardant foams CMHR (in order to obtain high resilience and at the same time reduced content of flame-retardant agents), high quality high resilience foams (HR). Such foams have lower emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and better long-term physical and mechanical properties as compared to commonly available HR solutions. High resilience (HR) foams and flame-retardant foams CMHR can be produced only when liquid flame-retardants are used (bypassing melamine).
Main advantages of product application:
dry matter content (20%),
possibility to manufacture high resilience (HR) foams of density within the range 25-60 kg/m3,
hardness of HR and CMHR foams within the range of 1.5 do 4.5 kPa, depending on foam density,
flame-retardant foams CMHR with reduced content of flame-retardants (owing to a different type of dry matter, without styrene-acrylonitrile).
Mechanical properties of foams produced using Rokopol® iPol H:
impressive comfort factor SAG (up to 3,3 - comparable with latex mattresses) and higher by 20-30% as compared to foams produced based on traditional HR technology,
very high resilience of the foam, up to 70%, as compared to standard HR solutions which have resilience of 50-60%,
possibility to obtain CMHR foam meeting flammability criteria CAL TB 133, BS5852 and CRIB 5, produced only using liquid flame retardant without a necessity to use melamine which worsens mechanical properties of the foam,
lower emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) to 75% as compared to SAN polyols:
does not contain monomeric styrene,
does not contain monomeric acrylonitrile,
high mechanical strength of the obtained foam over time:
insignificant loss of hardness, density and resilience over time as compared to available HR technologies.
Application of polyol' Rokopol® iPol H enables increasing production which is demonstrated through:
rectangular shape of foam block - less production waste,
no spread of density and hardness in a foam block,
good initial strength allowing to handle a foam block directly after foaming.
Most popular applications of Rokopol® iPol H:
high quality, high resilience (HR) foams and flame-retardant CMHR foams,
flexible foams as a base for production of HR mattresses and upholstery with high resilience,
moulded foams used in seats in automotive industry.
