Propoxylated fatty alcohol C12-15 is a universal, non-ionic surfactant of synthetic origin. This product is formed as a result of a reaction of fatty alcohol with propylene oxide. It is soluble in the majority of organic solvents. Its density at the temperature of 250C ranges between 0.94 to 0.96 g/cm3. Viscosity is an important functional parameter of the product, which at 400C ranges between 37-45 mm2/s.
Propoxylated fatty alcohol C12-15 has a variety of industrial applications. As a result of its wetting and cleaning properties, the product is commonly used for the production of different detergents from the group of professional cleaning and washing agents, as well as for household detergents. Alcohol C12-15, propoxylated, has also been successfully used as an ingredient of fuel additives. The very good wetting properties of this product make it a highly important raw material for the production of lubricants and functional liquids used in numerous branches of industry.
The product is not classified following Regulation (EC) no. 1272/2008 [CLP], therefore it is not a substance harmful to the environment.
