ROKAmer 3800 belongs to the group of non-ionic block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (ROKAmers). The product is a clear, colourless liquid with a low freezing point, i.e. below -20°C, and an active substance content of about 100%. ROKAmer 3800 water solutions at low room temperature are clear and become cloudy at 16-20°C. It is a product with moderate hydrophobicity and good degreasing and wetting properties on hard surfaces. As a result, it can be used, among others, as a component of professional dishwasher detergents, for industrial bottle washing and in preparations for metal degreasing. When applied in dishwashers, the product helps to prevent dull stains and streaks created by water droplets and gives a high shine to tableware and glassware.
The product is a high-molecular polymer with a specific, bifunctional structure, which means that it has two hydrophilic groups. This feature distinguishes the ROKAmer group from other non-ionic surfactants and determines their properties. ROKAmer 3800 is one of the products with remarkable anti-foaming properties. It is dedicated to professional detergents used for institutional and industrial cleaning, as well as for some industrial processes.
ROKAmer 3800 is used in Clean in Place systems, e.g. as a component of cleaning formulations in breweries. Thanks to the anti-foaming properties, achieved even at low temperatures, it reduces the foaming of washing baths, including in the presence of proteins or starch. ROKAmer 3800 is a hard-water-resistant product, dedicated to neutral or slightly alkaline formulations.
In addition, ROKAmer 3800 is a reactive surfactant and it can be further modified, e.g. with fatty acids. Its derivatives are anti-foaming ingredients for the paper and food industries (e.g. sugar production), as well as for numerous processes in which the problem of foaming of sewage and technological waters occurs. Due to its properties, the product reduces the surface tension between the liquid and air, and at the same time improves the “drainage” of the foam, resulting in its reduction.
ROKAmer 3800 does not contain silicone, is not classified as a hazardous substance and is susceptible to aerobic biodegradation. The product may be available as kosher. ROKAmer 3800 complies with the regulations allowing the product to be in indirect contact with food. The American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves the use of this product and its derivatives as an antifoam under the conditions described in the following sections of the FDA:
Polyoxyalkylene propylene glycol, Oxirane, methyl-, polymer with oxirane, ether with 1, 2-propanediol (2:1), Oxirane, 2-methyl-, polymer with oxirane, ether with 1, 2-propanediol (2:1), 1, 2-Propyleneglycol, ethoxylated andpropoxylated, Polypropoxylated, polyethoxylated propylene glycol, Propane-1, 2-diol, ethoxylated, propoxylated, Propylene glycol, propylene oxide, ethylene oxide polymer, Polypropoxylated, polyethoxylated, propylene glycol, Oxirane, polymer with methyloxirane, ether with 1, 2-propanediol (2:1).
