ABSNa 25 is a sodium salt of alkylbenzene sulfonic acid with the INCI name: Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate. It belongs to the group of anionic surfactants. The active substance concentration in this compound is 25%. The product takes the form of a clear liquid with a yellow tinge. Thanks to the appropriate concentration of the active substance, it maintains a liquid form with low viscosity at room temperature. This feature greatly facilitates its dosage and pumping. Moreover, it has a positive influence on product stability, also at low temperatures.
ABSNa 25 is a surfactant recommended for use as a basic anionic emulsifier in the process of emulsion polymerisation. It is particularly suitable for the production of styrene-acrylic and styrene-butadiene copolymer dispersions, as well as acrylic and vinyl dispersions. The product has a favourable effect on the reaction rate and enables the obtaining of a product with a low molecule size. A further advantage of ABSNa 25 is its resistance to hydrolysis, even at high temperatures and low pH conditions.
The application of ABSNa 25 is recommended in combination with compatible non-ionic surfactants, such as ROKAnol L30/65, ROKAnol IT40/70, ROKAnol UD40/70 and ROKAnol TSP25/80. The recommended application dose is 0.5 – 2.0% of active substance calculated per monomer mass.
ABSNa 25 can be used as a component of cleaning and washing formulations.
The product is approved for use as an indirect food additive on the basis of lists published by the American FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the German BfR (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung).
