ROKAnol® UD40/70 is a non-ionic surfactant, which belongs to the group of ethoxylated synthetic alcohols. The product is a high molecular derivative of undecyl alcohol used as non-ionic emulsifier in the process of emulsion polymerisation.
At room temperature, the product has liquid form. Its Hazena colour is up to 250. It dissolves very well in water and low aliphatic alcohols.
The density of ROKAnol UD40/70 ranges around 1.09 g/mL, the viscosity is about 600 cP, while the solidification temperature of the product is 0°C.
The active substance content in the commercial product is about 70%.
The main area of application of ROKAnol UD40/70 is emulsion polymerization, more precisely the industrial process of obtaining acrylic, styrene-acrylic and vinyl dispersions.
The use of the product ensures excellent dispersion stability both during the process and in the case of the final product. The use of the product allows for effective control of the size of dispersion particles, as well as ensures low coagulate content.
ROKAnol UD40/70 significantly increases dispersion resistance to external chemicals such as organic solvents or inorganic salt ions.
The product is recommended for application in a system with appropriate anionic emulsifier. Best properties are obtained in combination with SULFOROKAnol L430/1, SULFOROKAnol L725/1 and SULFOROKAnol L1230/1.
ROKAnol UD40/70 is especially recommended as an alternative to ethoxylated alkylphenol. In addition, it is a non-classified product in accordance with the CLP/GHS Regulation.
ROKAnol UD40/70 is characterized by very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and SVOC substances.
The recommended dose is 0.3 – 3.0% of the active substance per mass of monomers.
