ROKAnol® UD28/70 is a non-ionic surfactant, which belongs to the group of ethoxylated synthetic alcohols. The product is a high molecular derivative of undecyl alcohol used as a non-ionic emulsifier in the process of emulsion polymerisation. At room temperature the product is a liquid with a low gelation tendency, with an active substance content of 70%.
The product is used in the production of acrylic, styrene-acrylic and vinyl dispersions. The relatively high ROKAnol UD28/70 ethoxylation level results in its unique properties.
During the process, it efficiently stabilizes the formed polymer molecules, counteracting the formation of large amounts of coagulate. ROKAnol U28/70 ensures excellent stabilization of the finished dispersion, in particular preventing system coagulation as a result of electrolytes and dispersion freeze-thaw cycles.
The product is recommended for application in a system with an appropriate anionic emulsifier. Best properties are obtained in combination with SULFOROKAnol L430/1, SULFOROKAnol L725/1 and SULFOROKAnol L1230/1.
ROKAnol UD28/70 is a non-classified product and it is particularly recommended as an alternative product to ethoxylated alkylphenols. Recommended application level is an amount of active substance equal to 0.5-3.0% (by weight) of total monomer weight.
