ROKAnol DB7R is a non-ionic surfactant, belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI: C12-15 Pareth-7). It is a highly concentrated product. It contains approx. 100% of the active substance. The product is classified as ROKAnol DB series, based on C12-C15 fatty alcohol. The evident surface activity allows for the use of ROKAnol DB products as ingredients of detergents and cleaning agents, and also opens up possibilities for their use in other industries.
The marketed form of ROKAnol DB7R is a clouded liquid at the room temperature that tends to delaminate. At an elevated temperature (approx. 40°C), it is a clear liquid with a light colour, i.e. max. 70 on the Hazen scale. The solidification point of the product is approx. 20°C, and the cloud point in water ranges from 42 to 45°C. The hydrophile-lipophile balance (HLB) of ROKAnol DB7R is 12, which makes the product well soluble in water.
ROKAnol DB7R is a Rokanol DB product dedicated to being used mostly as an ingredient of detergents. It has excellent wetting properties and very good foamability. It is stable both in oxidising and reducing environment, as well as in the presence of hard water. The product is active in cold water, in acidic or neutral baths and in diluted alkalis. It exhibits excellent degreasing and detergent properties, allowing for highly efficient removal of impurities. The use of the product in cleaning agents makes it possible to obtain clear and stable formulations, often without the use of hydrotropes.
Besides, ROKAnol DB7R features excellent dispersing properties. It is also an effective emulsifier. The numerous application advantages are decisive for the use of ROKAnol DB7R as a universal ingredient of most detergents.
For example, the product is used in the production of dishwashing liquids, laundry washing liquids and capsules, bleaches, floor cleaners, window cleaners (including those for car windows) and leather upholstered furniture care products. It is also used in dedicated cleaning agents for industrial and institutional use. Examples include the following: preparations for the professional washing of restaurant and hospital textiles, for machine cleaning hard surfaces in production plants and supermarkets, alkaline agents for degreasing the surface of metals, as well as formulations used in CIP (Cleaning in Place) processes.
As compared to ROKAnol DB7, this product version DB7R has a specially designed cloud point whose value exceeds 40°C. That allows for the optimum use of the product as an effective detergent, especially in washing and cleaning formulations.
The washing and emulsifying properties allow for the use of ROKAnol DB7R in cosmetic formulations, mainly hair washing and care cosmetics.
As there are no ionic forms in the chemical structure of the product, it can be effectively used in combination with other non-ionic surfactants and in formulations that contain anionic and cationic surfactants and other excipients.
ROKAnol DB7R is a highly biodegradable surfactant. The surfactant complies with the biodegradability criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
