ROKAmer PP1000 is a polyoxypropylendiol-type polyol with an average mol mass of around 1000 g/mol. The product is a polymer with a dual-function structure, which is due to the presence of two hydrophilic groups per molecule.
This makes the ROKAmer PP products stand out amongst other non-ionic surfactants and determines their properties. ROKAmer PP1000 can be thus classified as an anti-foaming product mainly dedicated to industrial processes.
It contains approx. 100% of the active substance. At room temperature, it is a clear and viscous liquid with a low freezing point (below -20°C). It dissolves in cold water, and its solubility considerably drops along with increasing temperature.
Like all polypropylene glycols, Rokamer PP1000 mixes in any proportion with organic solids and liquids, the main exception being long-chain aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Additional benefits of that product include excellent lubricity and low vapour pressure. In extreme heating conditions, it does not form coke or lacquer, and its decomposition products show a low boiling point.
ROKAmer PP1000 is used in a wide range of applications, mostly as a defoaming component. It may be used as a foam reducer in the paper industry, food processing (sugar production), the production of emulsion paints, or in fermentation tanks.
Other applications of ROKAmer PP1000 include its use as a debonding agent, plasticizer, raw material for synthesizing other anti-foaming agents through esterification with fatty acids, or as an ingredient of lubricants, component for the production of resins or metal working fluids.
ROKAmer PP1000 can also be used as a dust particle binder in air dedusting or as a solvent and coupling agent in the production of inks and pesticide preparations.
ROKAmer PP1000 is not classified according to the CLP/GHS Regulation and complies with the provisions on admission to indirect contact with food. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows the product and its derivatives to be used as an anti-foaming agent under the conditions defined in the following FDA sections:
