Rokopol® iPol S is a polymer dispersion in reactive polyether polyol, white, and designated for production of high quality, high resilience foams (HR) and flame-retardant foams (CMHR). It significantly increases hardness of the material without the need to use styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) polyols. Thanks to this, the content of volatile organic compounds (VOC) is lower, while maintaining a significantly improved fire resistance. It contains antioxidants (excluding BHT). It has hydroxyl value within the range of 40-46 mgKOH/g and dynamic viscosity within the range of 1500-2000 mPas at temp. 25°C.

Properties and applications

Properties:

  • very high resilience of the foam,
  • possibility to obtain CMHR foam meeting flammability criteria CAL TB 133, BS5852 and CRIB 5, produced only using liquid flame retardant,
  • lower emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) to 75% as compared to SAN polyols:
    • does not contain monomeric styrene,
    • does not contain monomeric acrylonitrile,
  • high mechanical strength of the obtained foam over time:
    • insignificant loss of hardness, density and resilience over time as compared to available HR technologies,
  • product not classified in accordance with the CLP/GHS Regulation,
  • safe product - not subject to ADR regulations.

Application:

  • high quality, high resilience foams (HR),
  • flame-retardant foams (CMHR),
  • moulded foams which are used in seats in the automotive industry,
  • flexible foams which are a base for production of HR mattresses and upholstery with high resilience used in furniture industry.
