ROSULfan OD is an anionic surfactant belonging to the group of alkyl sulphates. The product is a sodium salt of n-octyl and n-decyl sulphate. The concentration of the active substance in an aqueous solution is 40% to 42%. The product has low viscosity and is light yellow in colour. It can also have a colourless form.
ROSULfan OD exhibits moderate foaming properties, creating medium and poorly stable foams even in hard water.Foams obtained from ROSULfan OD are characterized by a high degree of hydration (so-called wet foam) and a heterogeneous structure of bubbles.ROSULfan OD also has a low tendency to gel in electrolyte solutions, which eliminates problems associated with local viscosity increase, e.g. in dosing systems.
ROSULfan OD is also used as a component of synthetic extinguishing agents and agents containing fluorinated and perfluorinated surfactants (AFFF, FFFP, FP type and AR type that form an aqueous film). In these settings it acts as an additional foaming agent and can be mixed with other surfactants offered by the PCC Group.The product can be used in alkaline extinguishing agents.
It shows tolerance to caustic solutions with a concentration up to 180 g/l.
Due to its foaming properties, ROSULfan OD can also be used as an air-entraining agent in the construction industry, mainly in the production of drywall, thanks to which it is possible to produce light and durable materials.
The surfactant is biodegradable, compliant with the biodegradability criteria as set out in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
