ROKAnol L9R is a non-ionic surfactant, belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols with the INCI name: Laureth-9. The product co-creates a group of surfactants based on lauryl alcohol. At room temperature, it has the form of a liquid paste with a maximum colour of 100 in the Hazen scale. ROKAnol L9R is freely soluble in water. The HLB value for this product is approximately 13.1.The commercial product contains over 99% of the active substance and solidifies at about 20°C.
ROKAnol L9R is characterized by slightly lower hydrophilicity than ROKAnol L9. Similar to ROKAnol L9, it has emulsifying and solubilising properties. Due to its high cloud point value in water it can be used in applications requiring high temperature.
Thanks to very good detergency, wetting, dispersing and emulsifying properties, the product is used as a basic surfactant in liquid and powder detergents, and as dishwashing liquids, household and technical cleaners and hand cleaners. In these applications, it shows synergy in action with ROKAnol LK3, providing a high detergency effect and reducing the re-deposition of dirt.
ROKAnol L9R can be used in the environment of oxidizing and reducing factors as well as in the presence of hard water. It is active in cold water, in acidic and neutral baths, as well as in diluted alkalis. It has a higher resistance to the alkaline environment than ROKAnol L7.
ROKAnol L9R can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliary agents and in mixtures with anionic and cationic surfactants. It has a synergic washing and cleaning effect in a mixture with alkyl sulphates and alkyl aryl sulphonates.
ROKAnol L9R is also widely used as an ingredient in cosmetic preparations, including those for washing and care of skin and hair, in make-up cosmetics, sunscreens, shaving creams and after-shave cosmetics.
In addition, this product is used in the pre-treatment of fibers as a component of the formulation for removing mineral oilstains from woven and knit fabrics resulting from industrial knitting and weaving processes.
Due to its wetting properties in regard to cotton fabric, it can be used as a component of bleaching compositions for raw knitwear and cotton fabrics. The product also works well in the final stage of the textile dyeing process as one of the components, that removes excess dyes from the bath.
ROKAnol L9R is biodegradable in the natural environment.
