EXOstab NP6 is a professional blend of non-ionic surfactants which is the most effective and environmentally friendly alternative to ethoxylated nonylphenols. The product is totally free of any alkylphenol derivatives. It is a liquid with a colour of up to 150 on the Hazen scale. Its cloud point in butyldiglycol/water solution ranges between 60 and 65°C. Its solidification point is approx. -5°C. The active substance content is approx. 100%. EXOstab NP6 is slightly soluble in water and forms emulsions with it.
EXOstab NP6 is especially recommended as an application substitute for ethoxylated nonylphenol containing 6 moles of ethylene oxide per molecule. The product acts as a component of washing and cleaning agents as well as an emulsifier. Unlike ethoxylated nonylphenols, there is no need to use it in closed circuits only, where the working fluid is recycled or incinerated.
As an oil emulsifier in the tanning industry, EXOstab NP6 has a softening effect, improves throughput and increases the strength of the raw material. It works perfectly as a wool washing agent, and also has a very high ability to penetrate various fibres. It is an active agent that maintains its washing capacity in cold and hard water.
Also, EXOstab NP6 is resistant to elevated temperatures and high concentrations of electrolytes. In addition, it may be used in difficult process conditions, e.g. in wool washing and cotton boiling, as well as a component of lubricants for ingots and dies for the metal industry.
The product is highly resistant to oxidising and reducing agents, is stable in alkalis and has the ability to prevent calcium salt from precipitating. These features make it an excellent detergent and emulsifier in the textile, pulp and paper and tanning industries.
EXOstab NP6 can be used in mixtures with other non-ionic auxiliary agents or with anionic and cationic agents.
The product is perfect as an oil emulsifier (with an additional wetting effect) for tanning leather and as a detergent for cleaning, stain removal and bleaching in the paper industry. It is especially recommended for washing and degreasing wool. It is used for washing worsted, yarn, knitted woollen fabrics without the addition of alkalis and as a penetrator and equalizer for dyeing, fibre debonding and finishing, carbonising of wool and boiling of cotton prior to dyeing.
The product is also used as an emulsifier for oils, solvents, silicone lubricants in the preparation for spinning, carding and other operations, for all types of vegetable, animal, chemical and mixed fibres.
EXOstab NP6 can be used as a very good wetting agent for cement grains, which does not introduce air into the mix.
