ROKAnol GT9W is a non-ionic surfactant from the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols, with a chain length of C9–C16. The product belongs to the ROKAnol GT line. It contains approx. 85% of active substance. Its commercial form is a liquid with a colour of max. 50 on the Hazen scale at room temperature.
The product solidifies at about -1°C. This feature facilitates its use and storage. ROKAnol GT9W is hydrophilic, therefore it dissolves well in water and lower aliphatic alcohols. In addition, it has high cloud point ranging between 54 and 57°C in an aqueous solution.
ROKAnol GT9W is stable in oxidising and reducing environments, as well as in the presence of hard water. Additionally, the product is resistant to acidic and alkaline environments, to the presence of salts and organic solvents, that are included in formulations as a result of meeting special, strict application requirements.
ROKAnol GT9W has a much higher resistance to electrolytes, especially to alkalis, compared to lower ethoxylates from the ROKAnol GT line. Thus, it can be used in more alkaline formulations, especially in professional detergents and auxiliary agents in the textile industry.
Due to the lack of ionic forms in its chemical structure, ROKAnol GT9W can be used in combination with other non-ionic surfactantsand in formulations that contain anionic and cationic surfactants. The product has very good degreasing and detergent properties, thus providing for highly efficient removal of impurities from woven/knitted fabrics and hard surfaces.
ROKAnol GT9W is also perfect as a component of preparations for fibre pre-treatment processes. The product is effective in the removal of oil stains of a mineral origin from woven/knitted fabrics that result from knitting/weaving processes. Due to its excellent wetting properties, ROKAnol GT9W can be used as a component of bleaching compositions for raw knitted and woven cotton fabrics. When used in a bleaching bath, the product improves dye capillarity during the next stage of fibre treatment, i.e. the dyeing process.
The surfactant complies with the biodegradability criteria as set out in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
