EXOstat RO is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to alkanolamides. This compound is an antistatic additive with very good slipping properties. It is perfect as an auxiliary agent in plastic processing.
The commercial product is a clear or slightly turbid light yellow to yellow liquid. Thus it can be successfully used in light and transparent finished products. In water, the product forms dispersions. Its pour point is around 4°C.
EXOstat RO is mainly used as an additive to plastics and it provides excellent slipping properties.
The mechanism of its action depends on migration to the surface of the material. The product forms a smooth layer after hardening and crystallization, thus reducing the friction coefficient of the finished product. Therefore, EXOstat RO is willingly used in the production of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) or high and low density polyethylene (HDPE/LDPE) films.
In addition to the slipping properties, EXOstat RO has also very good antistatic properties. Therefore, it is successfully used in the production of specialized masterbatches with slipping and antistatic properties dedicated to PE/PP, as well as styrene polymers, e.g. GPPS.
The product is subject to ADR/RID, IMDG, ICAO/IATA regulations.
