Rokester® DP 1720.01 is a polymer from the group of aliphatic-aromatic polyester polyols. It exists in the form of a viscous liquid. It has a hydroxyl value within the range of 160-180 mg KOH/g and dynamic viscosity within the range of 1500-2100 mPas at temp. 25°C. It is characterized by relatively low and repeatable reactivity.
Rokester® DP 1720.01 is a raw material dedicated mainly to the production of one-component foams (OCF).
Rokester® DP 1720.01 is an aliphatic-aromatic polyester polyol made from recycled raw material. It uses waste PET (polyethylene terephthalate) extracted from used plastic beverage bottles and other packaging.
PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a plastic characterized by high levels of stiffness and hardness, as well as high mechanical and thermal strength. It is easy to process and maintains high shape stability. It is characterized by low water absorption and is resistant to corrosion and weather conditions.
Plastic waste lingers in the environment, releases a variety of harmful substances. These compounds, often highly toxic, enter the soil, air and water, disrupting the natural economy of entire ecosystems. Therefore, it is very important that as much PET waste as possible be recycled and used in the production of other raw materials or products.
As a raw material for polyester polyols, recycled PET requires remelting. The recycled PET pellets are heated and, with the help of appropriate catalysts and auxiliaries, converted into a liquid polyester polyol (in this case Rokester® DP 1720.01) that can be used to produce new polyurethanes.
Rokester® DP 1720.01 is a full-value product that can be used on a par with conventionally made products. It is characterised by low viscosity.
The product is mainly dedicated to the production of one-component foam (OCF). Thanks to the content of aromatic groups, it allows for better flame retardant properties of OCF foams.
PCC Rokita SA is one of the largest chemical companies in Poland as well as Central and Eastern Europe. Its activity includes the production of chloroalkali, polyether polyols, polyalkylene glycols and phosphorus derivatives.
