Properties and applications

Properties:

  • Rokopol vTec8940 contains 25% bio-based recycled raw materials (PET) and natural oils, which means that with an optimal formulation, the viscoelastic foam can contain around 15% eco-friendly components,
  • a simple starting formulation based on TDI80 or MDI,
  • possibility to obtain foam with very high airflow on standard silicone,
  • high purity and low VOC emissions,
  • possibility to produce foams with a density in the range of 35–60 kg/m3 and a hardness in the range of 1.0–3.0 kPa,
  • the tensile strength of the foam is above 150 kPa, and relative elongation at break is over 250%,
  • a foam recovery time of 5–20 s,
  • excellent permanent deformation parameters enabling high compression of the foam during transport,
  • pleasant foam feel.

 Applications:

  • viscoelastic polyurethane foams (visco, Memory Foam), elastic and gel foams,
  • mattresses and cushions with increased comfort factor (furniture industry).
