Polikarboksylat AMC60 is a laundry detergent filler with an excellent softening effect on hard water. The product is the acrylic-maleic copolymer sodium salt. It is available in the form of about 40% aqueous, clear solution with a slightly alkaline pH in the range of 8.0-9.0. The main functional feature of the product is its ability of metal ions chelation, in particular calcium and magnesium ions, which allows for effective softening of hard water.
Polikarboksylat AMC60 is an ecological alternative to commonly used polyphosphate-based softeners. It is therefore recommended for cleaning and washing formulations with a reduced content of these. The product has good compatibility and synergy with other cleaning formulations components, such as non-ionic and anionic surfactants. Moreover, the product effectively eliminates re-deposition of dirt on a textile product.
Additionally, the product does not adversely affect the degree of whiteness of undyed materials and the shade of washed raw material, even after repeated washing. The recommended scope of application depends on the type of composition and environment.
