ROKAnol® PL10 is an anionic surfactant from the group of phosphoric esters of ethoxylated lauryl alcohol, partially neutralized with diethanolamine. It is produced in the form of beige paste or wax. The solidification point of the product is approx. 30⁰C.
The product is poorly soluble in mineral oils, whereas it dissolves very well in water and in many organic solvents, e.g. low aliphatic alcohols, ethylene glycol, benzene, toluene. Its aqueous solutions have a neutral reaction.
Due to its anionic character, ROKAnol® PL10 can be used in compositions containing non-ionic and other anionic surfactants. It should not be used with cationic agents without prior verification, as adverse effects may occur.
ROKAnol® PL10 is used as an emulsifier and anti-electrostatic agent in the textile industry and in household chemistry products. In the textile industry it is an excellent anti-electrostatic agent used in compositions for raw materials and textile products made of polyester, polyamide, polyacrylonitrile and cotton fibres. ROKAnol® PL10 can be used at temperatures up to boiling point of water.
In addition, the product has good washing, cleaning and emulsifying properties and is widely used in many industrial applications, e.g. in mining formulations and in compositions for washing and degreasing. In agrochemical industry ROKAnol® PL10 can be used as a coemulsifier in adjuvant formulations.
Due to the partial neutralization of the acidic ester with dietanolamine, the product may show anti-corrosive properties, which is important in metalworking compositions. An additional advantage is the phosphorus content of 2.5-2.8%.
ROKAnol® PL10 is a biodegradable surfactant that complies with the biodegradability criteria set out in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
