Rokanol® ID8 belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: Isodeceth-8). The product is part of the ROKAnol® ID series, based on isodecyl alcohol. Their detergency and dispersion capacity is so strong that they are ideal ingredients of household, industrial and institutional cleaning products.
ROKAnol® ID8 is a clear or slightly turbid liquid. At 40°C it has a light colour, i.e. max. 50 HU. Its active ingredient content is close to 100%. The product has a high cloud-point at the temperature level of 64÷68°C in an aqueous solution. It dissolves well in water, methanol, diethyl ether and acetone. Due to its ionic character, it can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliary substances and in formulations with the presence of anionic and cationic surfactants.
ROKAnol® ID8 produces unstable foam, which is a common feature of most ROKAnol® ID series products. It has high wetting, detergency, emulsifying and dispersing properties. Along with the ROKAnol® ID7, it exhibits the highest alkaline stability among the products of the ROKAnol® ID series, while being resistant to acid and hard water.
Due to its numerous advantages, ROKAnol® ID8 is ideally suited for acidic and alkaline formulations, disinfectants, products containing solvents, as well as household formulations and products for industrial and institutional applications. It can be recommended for processes of removing oil stains (mineral oils) from knit and woven fabrics, caused by industrial knitting and weaving processes. The product, due to its excellent wetting properties, can be used as a component of the bleaching compositions for raw knitted fabrics and cotton fabrics. Its presence in the formulation improves the capillarity of the dye, which increases the efficiency of dyeing.
ROKAnol® ID8 is biodegradable in the natural environment and meets the criteria of the Detergents Directive.
