Rokanol ID5® belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: Isodeceth-5). The product belongs to the ROKAnol® ID series based on isodecyl alcohol. Due to their strong detergency and dispersion capacity they are ideal ingredients of household, industrial and institutional cleaning products.
ROKAnol® ID5 is a clear or slightly turbid liquid with an active substance content of approximately 100%. It solidifies at a temperature of approximately 3°C and at 40°C it has a light colour, i.e. max. 50 HU. The product has a high turbidity point at the temperature level of 66÷69°C in butylodiglycol/water solution. Due to its limited water solubility, it forms cloudy solutions in combination with water. However, its high surface activity makes it ideal for use in both water and other liquids. It can be used in combination with other non-ionic as well as cationic and anionic surfactants.
ROKAnol® ID5 is characterized by unstable foam. It is an excellent wetting agent with high detergency, emulsifying and dispersing properties. It works particularly well in the presence of small amounts of salts and alkalis, while showing resistance to acidic environment and hard water.
Due to its numerous advantages, ROKAnol® ID5 is ideally suited for acidic formulations, disinfectants, products containing solvents, household formulations and products for industrial and institutional applications. Additionally, due to its good wetting properties, the product is used in the agrochemical industry, especially in formulations such as EC, EW, SC, SE.
ROKAnol® ID5 is biodegradable in the natural environment and meets the criteria of the Detergents Directive.
