ROKAnol® NL9 belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: C9-11 Pareth-9). The product belongs to the ROKAnol® NL series, based on C9-C11 alcohol. Clear surface activity allows them to be mainly used as excellent detergents and cleaning agents.
The commercial product contains about 100% of the active substance. At room temperature, it takes the form of a paste, while at 40°C it is a clear liquid with a light colour, i.e. up to 100 Hazen-scale. The solidification point is about 15°C. ROKAnol® NL9 exhibits hydrophilic properties, which is reflected in high solubility in water and low aliphatic alcohols. The product is characterized by very high foaming properties, creating a stable and durable foam.
The product has a high cloud point in the temperature range of 82 ÷ 85°C in butylidiglycol/water solution. It can be successfully used in the environment of oxidizing agents, reducing agents and hard water. Due to its ionic nature, this product can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliaries and in formulations with anionic as well as cationic surfactants.
ROKAnol® NL9, like ROKAnol ®NL5 and ROKAnol® NL6, has very high wetting properties. For this reason, it has been used in pre-treatment of fibres. It can be recommended for removing mineral oil stains from fabric/knitwear that result from industrial knitting and weaving processes. The product, due to its excellent wetting properties of cotton fabric, can be used as an ingredient in bleaching compositions of raw knitted and cotton fabrics. Its presence in the formulation improves bleaching efficiency, which improves dye capillarity in dyeing processes. ROKAnol® NL9 is a very good emulsifier of silicone oil with which it forms microemulsions. These compositions are used, among others as softeners necessary in textile processes. In addition, the product meets the safety standards for textiles set by the world's leading textile institutes, such as the Oeko-Tex Standard Association or the ZDHC Program.
ROKAnol® NL9 shows high cleaning properties on hard surfaces as well as increased resistance to alkalis, i.e. up to a concentration of 90 g / L NaOH. For this reason, it works perfectly as a component of alkaline as well as acidic detergents for professional institutional cleaning. In professional cleaning agents the product is most often composed together with other non-ionic surfactants, BDG and alkali. Such compositions may also contain anionic surfactants, e.g. ABSNa.
ROKAnol® NL9 is used in pastes for chromium-plated parts and other formulations for automotive chemistry.
ROKAnol® NL9 is biodegradable and meets the criteria of the detergents directive.
