ROKAcet S7 is a non-ionic surfactant (INCI name: PEG-7 Stearate). It belongs to the ROKAcet S series. The product is a derivative based on a mixture of fatty acids, mainly stearic and palmitic. At room temperature it takes the form of a thick paste or white to yellow wax. Its saponification value is 92-97 and the pH of a 1% aqueous solution is in the range of 6,6-8,5. ROKAcet S7 forms emulsions in water and is well soluble in alcohols and hydrocarbons. The product is resistant to alkaline environment.
ROKAcet S7 has a very wide range of applications. It has softening, moisturizing, smoothing, emulsifying and anti-electrostatic properties. Moreover, it has dispersing properties on calcium and magnesium soaps. ROKAcet S7 is particularly suitable for use as a constituent of a multi-component preparation with a synergistic effect. In the textile industry it is used as a component of dye baths for dyeing cotton, wool and mixed products and for the preparation of finished products, both by extraction and padding.
Additionally, ROKAcet S7 is used in cosmetic formulations. It acts as an emulsifier in moisturizing creams, creams with SPF filter, body lotions, hand creams and hair conditioners.
