ROKAnol DB3 is a non-ionic surfactant of the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: C12-15 Pareth-3). The product belongs to the ROKAnol DB series based on C12-C15 fatty alcohol. The high surface activity of these products makes them suitable for use as efficient detergents and cleaning agents, and also opens up the possibility of their use in other industries.
The commercial form of the product is a colourless to straw liquid or paste with the active substance content of about 100%. The product solidifies at a temperature of about 10°C, whereas at 40°C it has a bright colour, i.e. up to 70 Hazen-scale. ROKAnol DB3 is characterized by a hydroxyl number of 164-172 mgKOH / g. In water, the product dissolves weakly with a tendency to form an emulsion.
The hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value (HLB) of the product is 7.8, which means that it has good emulsifying and dispersing properties. Perfectly deals with dried fatty stains on textile surfaces. ROKAnol DB3 is used in professional detergents for institutional washing. It exhibits synergy with higher ethoxylates, e.g. ROKAnol DB7, resulting in maximum detergency. ROKAnol DB3 emulsifies oil contaminants present in the wash liquor. In addition, it reduces the foaming of other, highly soluble non-ionic surfactants present in the detergent. Dispersing, emulsifying and wetting properties allow the use of ROKAnol DB3 in cosmetic formulations, e.g. in hair dyes.
Good emulsifying properties make it suitable for the treatment and degreasing of metal surfaces as well as in plant protection products - in liquid herbicide formulations, such as EC, EW, SE.
The wide range of possible applications makes ROKAnol DB3 ideally suited as a component of agents for commercial applications and in products intended for industrial and institutional applications. It is compatible with other non-ionic, cationic and anionic surface-active products. Moreover, the product can be a raw material for the production of alkyl ether sulphates, which have a very high wetting capacity, foaming properties and excellent detergency parameters.
ROKAnol DB3 is completely biodegradable and meets the criteria of the detergents directive.
