ROKAmer 2000 belongs to the group of non-ionic block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (ROKAmers). The product is a clear, colourless liquid with a low freezing point (below -20°C) and with an active substance content of about 100%. The ROKAmer 2000 water solutions below room temperature are clear and turbid at 23-27°C. The product has moderate hydrophobicity and good degreasing and wetting properties of hard surfaces. This makes it used, among others, as a component of professional dishwashing chemicals, industrial bottle washing and preparations for degreasing metals.
The product is a high molecular weight polymer with a specific, bifunctional structure, which means it has two hydrophilic groups. This feature distinguishes the ROKAmers group from other nonionic surfactants and determines their properties. ROKAmer 2000 is a product with low-foaming and anti-foaming properties. It is dedicated for professional detergents for institutional and industrial cleaning as well as for some industrial processes.
ROKAmer 2000 is used in Clean in Place systems, e.g., as a component of cleaning formulations in breweries. Thanks to the anti-foaming properties, already achieved at low temperature, it causes a decrease in the foaming of washing baths, also in the presence of proteins or starch. ROKAmer 2000 is a product resistant to hard water, dedicated to neutral or slightly alkaline formulations.
In addition, ROKAmer 2000 is a reactive surfactant and it is possible to further modify it, e.g., with fatty acids. Its derivatives are anti-foaming ingredients for the paper and food industries (e.g., sugar production), as well as for numerous processes in which the problem of foaming of sewage and technological waters occurs. Thanks to its properties, the product reduces the surface tension between the liquid and the air, and at the same time improves the "drainage" of the foam, resulting in its reduction. ROKAmer 2000 does not contain silicone, as it is not classified as a dangerous substance and susceptible to aerobic biodegradation. The product has a kosher certificate. ROKAmer 2000 complies with the regulations that allow the product to be indirectly contacted with food. The US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) permits the use of this product and its derivatives as an antifoaming agent under the conditions described in the following FDA sections:
