Rokryl GA16 is an anionic auxiliary agent used in tanning. It is used in the process of retanning and feeding chrome tanned leather. The product is an aqueous solution of acrylic syntan. It is a viscous, clear liquid with a light yellow to light brown colour. It is completely soluble in water and mixes well with all anionic synthetic tanning agents, auxiliary agents and vegetable tannins.
Rokryl GA16 has very high resistance to hard water. In addition, it is resistant to salts, weak alkalis and trivalent chromium salts in the anionic form. It exhibits limited resistance to acids. At pH below 4, a precipitate may form, which dissolves after increasing the pH of the bath above 4. The use of the product gives the leather softness, smoothness, elasticity and fullness, as well as improves the flexibility and grain tightness.
Rokryl GA16 improves the penetration of synthetic, resin and plant tannins into the skin tissue in the retanning process. Treated with it, the skin is better grinded. The product has a brightening effect on the dye and, together with bleaching syntans, provides white skins with high resistance to sunlight.
With its use, the process of leather buffing is much easier. The product brightens the colours, and together with bleaching syntans creates white leather with high resistance to sunlight.
