Rokryl GA15 is an anionic auxiliary agent used in tanning. It is a synthetic tannin used in the tanning, retanning and feeding of chrome-tanned leather. The product is an aqueous solution of ammonium salt of low molecular weight resin. It is a viscous, clear or slightly turbid liquid with a colourless to light straw colour. It is characterized by complete solubility in water and excellent ability to mix with synthetic and vegetable tanning agents.
Rokryl GA15 is highly reactive with mineral tannins, e.g. Al3 + and Cr3 +. Even in small quantities it significantly improves the leather filling in the chrome tanning process. In the retanning process, Rokryl GA15 fills the loose parts of the leather, and in combination with the chrome retanning significantly improves the grain tightness.
The product improves the removal of chromium compounds from the tanning bath in chrome tanning and retanning processes. In addition, it can be used in combination with polymer and vegetable tannins, affecting the production of finished leathers with the desired properties. Thanks to the use of Rokryl GA15, the resistance of the final product to sunlight increases. The product has an equalising effect. In addition, in retanning fur skins with aluminium tannin, the product increases their tearing strength.
