ROKAmer 2330 belongs to the group of nonionic block copolymers of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (ROKAmers). ROKAmer 2330 is one of the low-foaming and anti-foaming products, which is their main feature. It is dedicated to professional detergents for institutional and industrial cleaning as well as for some industrial processes. The product is a viscous liquid, light yellow to yellow. The solidification point of the product is below 10°C and the active substance content is about 100%. Diluted aqueous solutions become cloudy at about 30°C.
The product is a high molecular polymer with a specific, bifunctional structure, which means it has two hydrophilic groups. This feature distinguishes the ROKAmers group from other nonionic surfactants and determines their properties. The product has moderate hydrophobicity and good degreasing and wetting properties of hard surfaces. This makes it used, among others, as a component of professional dishwashing chemicals, formulations for industrial bottle washing and metal degreasing preparations.
ROKAmer 2330 is used in Clean in Place systems, e.g., as a component of cleaning formulations in breweries. Thanks to the anti-foaming properties already achieved at low temperature, it causes a lowering of the foaming of washing baths, also in the presence of proteins or starch. ROKAmer 2330 is a product resistant to hard water, dedicated to neutral or slightly alkaline formulations.
Its anti-foaming properties are used in the paper and food industry as well as in all production processes where the problem of foaming of technological waters or wastewater occurs. Thanks to its properties, the product reduces the surface tension between the liquid and the air, and at the same time improves the "drainage" of the foam, which results in its reduction.
ROKAmer 2330 does not contain silicone, is not classified as a dangerous substance and is susceptible to aerobic biodegradation. The product has a Kosher certificate. It complies with the regulations permitting the product for indirect contact with food. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows the use of this product and its derivatives as an antifoaming agent under the conditions described in the following FDA sections:
